1. Hall Effect Joystick Replacement for Steam Deck LCD

Designed as a replacement joystick module for the Steam Deck LCD, featuring Hall Effect sensing for smooth and consistent analog input.

The contactless magnetic sensing design helps reduce mechanical wear on the sensing components and may help reduce the likelihood of wear-related stick drift over time.

Supports the Steam Deck's original capacitive touch-sensing function when used with the included stick cap.

Two versions are supported:

• Type A — MEDA

• Type B — MHDA

To identify your Steam Deck joystick type, go to:

Settings → System → Steam Deck Controller ID

Select the corresponding joystick type before installation.

2. No Soldering Required

Designed to match the mounting position and connector interface of the original Steam Deck LCD joystick module.

Installation does not require soldering. After opening the console, connect the module, position it correctly, and secure it using the existing mounting screws.

The included stick cap is designed to retain the original capacitive touch functionality.

Note: Installation requires opening the Steam Deck. Follow an appropriate disassembly guide and handle internal components carefully.

3. One-Button Calibration

Each joystick module includes an onboard calibration button for convenient center-position calibration after installation.

Calibration Steps:

1. Position the joystick approximately at its natural center.

2. Press the calibration button on the joystick board.

3. Release the joystick.

4. Confirm that the stick returns close to the center position.

For best results, complete calibration before reinstalling the Steam Deck back cover.

Additional calibration through SteamOS may also be recommended after installation.

4. Adjustable Dead Zone

After installation, the Steam Deck's joystick dead-zone settings can be adjusted through the system according to your preferred control response.

A smaller dead zone can provide more immediate stick input, while a slightly larger dead zone may provide greater tolerance around the neutral position.

Dead-zone behavior can vary depending on the individual joystick, calibration and system settings, so adjustment should be made according to actual use rather than setting the value to the minimum automatically.

5. Installation & Calibration Notes

Please confirm that you have selected the correct Type A or Type B version before installation.

Calibration should be completed before securing the back cover.

When using a very small dead-zone setting, minor neutral-position deviation may become visible in system testing. This does not necessarily indicate a hardware fault and can often be addressed through recalibration or dead-zone adjustment.

If the pre-installed stick cap becomes slightly loose during transportation, gently press it vertically into position before use.
